Have a nice weekend!

This video is going to help you remind how to spell in english. After listening, look for the sounds to spell your LAST NAME properly.

This is a model of letter that will help you with writing part 2:

Remember you must use:

- Use Dear... to open your letter (never use Hi or Hello because you're not writing to your friend)

- Don't use contractions like I'm, I'd, I've...

- Express yourself in a polite and formal way (using modals and formulas as I would like to... , Could you please tell me ...?)

- Close your letter with formal expressions like: sincerely, yours faihfully, looking forward hearing from you or thank you in advance...)

Try these different online resources to train your grammar and vocabulary for the exam:

Writing part 1

Remember that in this part you have to answer your friend's email. He is asking you about different things. It's very important that you answer all the questions he/she's asks you.

Imagine that you're going to answer this email from your friend Nick:

This could be a possible way to answer him:

Hi Nick!

Thanks for your email!. I feel much better now. Last Saturday I was riding my bike when a little dog appeared and I felt down to the ground. The doctor told me that I haven't broken any bone. Eventually I have been in the hospital for three days.

You don't need to send me anything, but if I could choose, I would like the new Harry Potter's book. I can't wait to read it!

Thanks for worrying about me.

Hope to see you soon!

Writing part 2

You have to write a formal letter to a hotel manager asking for information. That means that you should be polite (using modal verbs as would, could, may...). Remember that you're not writing to a friend so you need to change the way you open and close the letter

This could be a possible letter:

Dear Ms Wiggins,

I write you because I would like to book a room in your hotel. I am going to spend there a week on vacation next June. Would there be any available room from 5th to 11th?

I am travelling with my family so I need a big room with three beds. Is it possible? May I choose a room with sea views?

Finally, I would like to ask you how far is the hotel from the railway station? We need to take the train to make trips to other interesting places around.

Thanks in advance for you attention.

Sincerely.

On this holiday, you have to practise the KET different parts of the exam using this online resource. You have to send me your final score when you've finished each part. Ask me if you have any problem or doubt.

This text can help you to prepare your expositions:

St. Patrick's Day is the national holiday of Ireland but nowdays it became popular in most English-speaking countries.

It celebrates St. Patrick's life who brought Christianity to the Irish in the fouth century.

It's celebrated on March 17th, the date when this saint died.

On St. Patrick's Day, people usually wear green clothes. Children usually pinch those who don't wear green. Green color represents the Republic of Ireland.

Shamrock is the traditional symbol. It's a small green plant with three leaves

Dear students:

Here are the questions that will help you to prepare the next exam. Try to answer them in your notebook and next Monday we will correct them:

 Dear students, hope you're well.

Last week I asked you three sentences using verbs from the Verb Focus list with three different tenses we've studied on this unit (past simple, past continous and present perfect). You have to send me by email three sentences. So then I can correct them and check that you're doing your homework. (remember that we're not on vacation).

Keep your informal letter (with the chores' instructions) for next Wednesday.

These are the assignments for the next two days:

MONDAY

1. You must enter Milton platform and do those three LISTENING activities (check at the Assigments section). I'm going to check which students do it for the class grades.

2. You have to try this online worksheet:

https://www.liveworksheets.com/bn1229462la

You have to choose between past simple and past continous (look at the attached image to remember their differences). (IMPORTANTE: puede ser que la primera vez que lo hagáis la nota que os de sea baja. Tenéis que seguir intentándolo hasta que la nota sea la mejor posible, entonces es cuando me tenéis que enviar vuestro resultado).

TUESDAY:

Since we're reaching the end of the unit you have to do the "review quiz" at the end of the unit (Compact book, page 68).

After that, go to the activity book on page 40 and try activities 29, 30 and 31.

In exercise 30, you have to write sentences using that frequency adverbs. Before that you must look up all the adverbs you don't know in the dictionary and then write them in your notebook. Look at this video to remember how to write sentences using frequency adverbs : https://youtu.be/vAHD0rqlj8I

Hope to see you all in the next online session. Remember, next Tuesday al 9AM using the same link:

Please, write me if you have any problem or doubt

Have a nice Monday :)
